What's Just Around the Corner...

Why do we always see the beauty of life only in what is extraordinary? The 7 Wonders of the World and the most beautiful spots on earth are what we often describe as amazing. When we see rich and famous people we almost forget that they are also human like us. We always appreciate what is the extravagant and majestic but we fail to see that the simplest things around us also matters. While Shaw quoted: "Beauty is all very well at first sight; but who ever looks at it when it has been in the house three days?" John Ruskin, on the other hand, also quoted: "Remember that the most beautiful things in the world are the most useless; peacocks and lilies for instance." I believe that it is true that we often ignore the things we usually see everyday and because of that we also ignore the meaning of their existence. The truth is the simplest and the most useless things are the things that really posses the real beauty of our world but the meanings are drowned by our lack of appreciation with what is plain, usual, ordinary, basic, and simple. Though we go and travel everywhere to look and find the beautiful things we want to see, we must never forget that there is also life and beauty in just around the environment where we live. Confucius once said: "Everything has beauty, but not everyone sees it." And in view of this, i want to share with you the beauty of our world not in the best beaches of the Philippines, or the structures of Europe, or the culture of China, and the jungle of Africa where everyone sees beauty everywhere...but only the beauty in what is just around our very corner...

the candle in the dark

the stuff toys in a room

the lamps in the board walk

a picture of a family

a corner of a place

the sunset in the city

the joy when you're with your friends

the dancing of the coconut tress

a flower in the bushes

a plant wet by rain

If these simple things in life, like the simple smile that can do good to you, or the site of the sunset filled you with joy, or you understand the message of every simple things around you... then you have nourished your being. If you can appreciate the beauty of life even in its simplest form, definitely you have a healthy soul. I'll leave you with one thought: "Live simple, because after all life is simple, you are only the one who complicates it."
